The Band started out in a very peculiar way around April of 2003 doing jams of Andean Rock Music, led by Bolivian artist and songwriter Marcos Tabera who had gathered wind and string instrumentis Julio Saracho and percussionist Luis Deheza to ensemble a group of musicians in order to support his then recently album AlterAndino. After completing the lineup with Javier Carrizosa on guitar and Marcos Flores on bass, the group gave birth to a new sound. Shortly thereafter, Marcos left onto another project, leaving the group, the remaining members started experimenting with their musical backgrounds and influences. The result was FILTRO, a sound of heavy and hard guitars with metal, punk and hard rock rhythms led by strong vocals talking about social issues and personal experiences.
Filtro is now a familiar name in the DC Latin Rock scene. The band has performed in many venues of the metropolitan area and also participated on the first 2 DCLRF's.
Classified by their fans as "Loud, Strong and with a very Unique sound", they are preparing material to record their first album.
